Single lenses are spectacle lenses that have one strength, a strength for far or near. Rodenstock has a variety of single lenses, from standard to customised single lenses.

The difference between a standard single vision lens and a more modern (individualised) single vision lens is noticeable in the wearing and viewing comfort. Whereas a standard single lens has a normal thickness, Rodenstock's most modern single lenses are produced with 3D FreeForm technology, making the lens ultra-thin. Moreover, the wearer has razor-sharp vision all the way to the edge and there is no distortion at the sides of the lens. These individually designed lenses take into account the specific strength and vision needs of you as a spectacle wearer. In short, the cream of the crop.

Rodenstock single vision lenses are available in a self-tinting variant. Handy when it gets sunny, then you have ordinary glasses and sunglasses in one.

Mono+

Did you know that the eye has to adapt to today's new viewing requirements more than 30,000 times a day? For some people, this can cause complaints such as headaches, eyestrain and/or blurred vision. The constantly changing viewing requirements of our time therefore demand a high standard of your eyes.

Notebooks, smartphones, navigation systems and E-readers have become part of our daily lives. Especially when the eyes frequently change between different viewing distances, Rodenstock's Mono+ lenses offer a solution. Particularly for the active single-vision wearer aged 30-45 who needs extra visual support at the reading distance. The Mono+ lens (available in the ^Impression®, ^{Multigressiv®} and Cosmolit variants) adds an additional power of +0.5, 0.8 or 1.1 dioptres in the lower vision area. This supports the natural eye movement between different viewing distances (reading distance and distant). Eye stress and fatigue symptoms are thus a thing of the past.

Stepless vision from near to far

The headline gives it all away: progressive lenses enable stepless vision from near to far, without a disturbing dividing line. Thanks to Rodenstock's special manufacturing technology, an almost limitless range of sharpness is guaranteed - whether you look near or far. In any case, Rodenstock combines seeing well and looking good, because glasses with no visible transition from near to far that are optimally tailored to your aesthetic requirements naturally look better too.

Multifocal lenses

From the age of 40, most people start having more trouble seeing at short distances. This is a natural process. It is caused by reduced elasticity of the eye lens and is called presbyopia. The first signs of this occur when, for example, you have to hold the newspaper further and further away from you to read properly. In some cases, reading glasses may be sufficient, in other cases the use of progressive lenses is recommended. With progressive lenses, an invisible reading part is built into the lens. This allows you to see far, intermediate and near without any problems. The big advantage is that you don't have to change glasses all the time.

Rodenstock has an extensive range of progressive lenses. From good lenses according to tried-and-tested production methods to customised lenses that are completely tailored to your personal wearing and viewing habits. Moreover, Rodenstock lenses can be fitted in practically all frames.

Rodenstock distinguishes three categories of progressive lenses: modern, personalised and individual progressive lenses. The modern progressive lens category includes three types of progressive lenses under the family name Progressive. From an entry-level progressive lens with good value for money to a good progressive lens that gives better vision in more situations. In short, the Progressive progressive lenses from Rodenstock have good quality for everyday use, these lenses are available from €100 each.

Rodenstock progressive lenses

The second category, personalised progressive lenses, includes the following type of progressive lens from Rodenstock: ^{Multigressiv®}. Spectacle wearers see very comfortably with this progressive lens and it offers a large, symmetrical field of vision for all viewing distances. In addition, this progressive lens gives you great vision at short viewing distances.

Spectacle wearers who want spectacles that are completely tailored to their personal vision needs choose individual progressive lenses from Rodenstock. With ^Impression®, you have a unique progressive lens that is completely tailored to your personal vision needs. You see very sharply and natural vision is closely approximated with these lenses. All Rodenstock progressive lenses are produced using FreeForm grinding technology. The advantage of this technology is that spectacle wearers experience a calmer and less distorted vision.

Rodenstock Road is the solution. With these specially developed single or progressive lenses, you will be optimally equipped to participate safely in traffic while driving.

Every glass surface reflects incident light, leading to annoying glare. To prevent this, we can provide your lenses with a good anti-reflection coating. Moreover, a coating must be scratch-resistant, dirt- and water-repellent, antistatic and easy to clean. With this unique coating from Rodenstock, keeping your lenses clean has never been easier. The ^Solitaire® Protect Plus 2 X-tra Clean AR coating has such a smooth surface that dust and dirt can be removed very easily (the 'one whipe' effect). Moreover, thanks to this superior AR coating, you are not bothered by annoying glare from incident light and your eyes remain clearly visible. SunContrast Drive

SunContrast Drive sun lenses are specially developed for in-car use. This reddish-brown colour offers optimum contrast performance and natural colour reproduction at the same time. This allows you to continue to recognise traffic signals properly. Driving in sunny conditions becomes a lot safer. SunContrast Drive sun lenses, like the other SunContrast sun lenses from Rodenstock, offer maximum UV protection of up to 400 nanometres.

Polarised

Sunglasses with polarising lenses have a vertical sun filter that eliminates annoying glare on horizontal surfaces, such as the water or a road surface.

Polarised sun lenses

Daylight emits waves in all directions that come at us in random directions. When this light is reflected by a horizontal surface, such as a water surface or a road surface, annoying glare occurs. Sunglasses with polarising lenses have a vertical solar filter that eliminates this annoying glare. These sunglasses are often worn by water sports enthusiasts, winter sports enthusiasts and while driving. Rodenstock has polarising sunglasses in various colours such as green, grey and brown. Naturally, these sun lenses give your eyes 100% UV protection.

Our eyes have to adapt to different light conditions all day long. To withstand all these different light intensities, self-tinting lenses are a godsend.

Self-tinting lenses

Rodenstock ColorMatic ^3®

Rodenstock launched its first self-tinting lenses in 1966. Rodenstock's self-tinting lenses, ^ColorMatic®, react quickly to light intensity. When the light gets brighter, the ^ColorMatic® lenses darken (the lens is as dark as a sun lens). The ^ColorMatic® lenses colour back again (become lighter) when it then becomes darker again and there is less light intensity.

Rodenstock offers a large selection of beautiful sun lens shades that comfortably and powerfully tint up and back. All ColorMatic ^IQ®3colour variants are clear indoors and offer very good anti-glare outdoors in the sun as the lenses are as dark as sun lenses.
